Report from the 2004 VSHF Celebrity Golf Tournmant

The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum could not ask for a better day than Monday, June 7, 2004, when the Hall of Fame hosted its 11th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament at Ford’s Colony Country Club in Williamsburg, VA. Members, friends, and inductees of the Hall of Fame gathered on the Black Heath and Marsh Hawk courses for some friendly competition and camaraderie.

The morning started off with the Pairings Brunch, which was hosted by Chip Tarkenton, Sports Director of Richmond’s WRIC TV-8. Twenty-five inductees took part in this year’s event, including Hall of Famers Charlie Moir, Ken Willard, Leroy Keyes, and Marsh Hawk course winner Barry Parkhill, as well as Old Dominion University basketball coach Blaine Taylor.

Following the round, golfers gathered in the Garden Tent for the awards ceremony, buffet, and raffle. Congratulations to the winners, and special thanks to all the participants, sponsors, and volunteers for making this event the success it is every year.
